Boundary Changes Related to the New Elementary School at 32nd & Burt Street in 2019-20 (Dundee, Field Club, and Kellom)
Please be aware of upcoming boundary changes to the Dundee, Field Club, and Kellom Elementary Schools following the 2018-2019 school year. The original boundary recommendation in the Facilities Capital Plan suggested that a 450 student building should serve the Gifford Park neighborhood as well as relieve the population at Dundee by serving students east of Saddle Creek Road. The new boundary will include the area roughly between Cumming Street and Dodge Street between 40th Street on the west and the North Freeway on the east. The boundary will also include an area between Dodge Street and Farman Street bounded by 38th Street and Turner Park as well as the area between Cumming Street and Cass Street between Saddle Creek Road and 40th Street. This boundary would create a 406 student (K-6) attendance area for the new school while relieving three schools of some of their student populations due to capacity concerns. The Kellom attendance area would be reduced by 297 students leaving it with 251 K-6 students. The Dundee attendance area would be reduced by 102 students leaving it with 386 K-6 students. The Field Club attendance area would be reduced by 7 students leaving it with 630 K-5 students. Below are documents related to these changes. If you think that your student will be impacted by these changes, please contact the Student Placement Office at 531-299-0302 with any questions or concerns.

Boundary Changes Related to Kennedy and Conestoga in 2017-18
Please be aware of upcoming boundary changes to Kennedy and Conestoga Elementary Schools following the 2016-2017 school year. The area situated roughly between 30th street, the North Freeway, Grant Street, and Seward Street are currently zoned into the Conestoga Elementary and Lewis and Clark Middle school attendance areas would be reassigned to Kennedy Elementary for the 2017-18 school year. A portion of this area was formerly the Pleasant View housing project and will be the future location of a portion of the Highlander neighborhood. In order to accommodate the 75 North community partnership with Kennedy Elementary, the district can guarantee all current and future students in the Highlander neighborhood access to Kennedy Elementary with this boundary change.

Boundary Changes Related to the Repurposing of Saratoga Elementary in 2017-18
Please be aware of upcoming changes to Saratoga Elementary School following the 2016-2017 school year. In 2014, the Omaha Public Schools’ Capital Facilities Plan recommended the repurposing of Saratoga and reassigning students to other nearby schools. A community meeting was held Sept. 29, 2015, at Saratoga Elementary to discuss the recommendations, potential changes and answer questions. In June 2016, the OPS Board of Education voted to close Saratoga at the end of the 2016-2017 school year, repurpose the building to accommodate the district’s Integrated Learning Program (ILP) students, and reassign Saratoga students to Lothrop Magnet Elementary, Skinner Magnet Elementary and King Science & Technology Center.
If you live in the Saratoga neighborhood and live north of Ames Avenue or west of the North Freeway, your new neighborhood elementary school will be Skinner for grades Kindergarten-5th and your neighborhood middle school will continue to be McMillan Magnet for grades 6th-8th.
If you live in the Saratoga neighborhood and live south of Ames Avenue and east of the North Freeway, your new neighborhood elementary school will be Lothrop for grades Kindergarten-4th and your neighborhood middle school will be King Science Magnet for grades 5th-8th.
Below are documents related to these changes. If you think that your student will be impacted by these changes, please contact the Saratoga principal Mr. Piechota, at 402-457-6427 or the Student Placement Office at 531-299-0302 with any questions or concerns.
